Meet Our Founder, George Lang IV

George Lang IV Graduated in 1995 from Eastern Vocational Technical high school majoring in electronics. Upon graduation, George started his electrical apprenticeship with Associated Builders and Contractors and graduated as a journeymen electrician in 2000. George started at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a second shift electrician and within 5 years George was running the electrical maintenance department. George obtained his Maryland electrical masters license in 2004 and now has a Masters’ license in 5 states. In 2004, George was offered an opportunity to become a partner in the electrical division for an established solar firm in Maryland. He decided to take a risk and left his job at Johns Hopkins to pursue the opportunity. During his time at the solar company George designed and helped deploy a system for Positive Train Control (P.T.C). George also built a patented battery system that was deployed in war zones and was used by the United States military. George worked at Powerup for 7 years until the company was sold to a national energy firm. George brought the five key employees to his new company.

Power Factor was formed in March of 2013 and now grosses $12M in annual sales and has over 50 employees. Power Factor has deployed over 1800 residential installations to date and over 35MW of solar both stateside and abroad. George is a Master Mason with Jephthah lodge 222 and is the president of the Essex Community Association. George has his NABCEP license and numerous contractors’ licenses. George is married to his wife Janice and has two kids, George Lang V and Laura Lang.

Meet the Team

Our family-owned business employs more than 50 full time contractors who are experts on everything there is to know in the industry. All employees are OSHA-certified for good safety practices, so they can be trusted with designing and delivering a product, installing it and handling repairs/replacement when required. To ensure professional work is being conducted throughout the entirety of a project, we review blueprints before, during, and after construction.

Ryan Koorey

Project Manager

Ryan has worked in the commercial construction industry for over 10 years (General Contracting and Tunneling Project Management), with the last 5 years concentrated in the Solar/renewable energy industry. Currently Ryan is the Business Development Manager for the Telecommunications division for Power Factor as well as Business Development focusing on commercial solar projects, LEED Certified lighting retrofits, and EV Charging Stations. Ryan also develops large commercial general electrical construction projects. He studied at Frostburg State University concentrating in Business Management, where he met his wife Linda. They currently reside in Arnold, Maryland; have 2 children, Mason (2) and Madison (6 months), and a family dog Marley. Ryan is an avid sports fan and frequently attends the local home team’s games with family and friends (Ravens, Orioles, Capitals, and Wizards). He plays golf regularly and enjoys hikes on the Appalachian Trail and going to Ocean City in the summer.

Andrew Streit

Director of Business Development

Andrew has over ten years’ experience in the solar industry, having previously worked for a private equity-backed solar start up, a seasoned regional solar installer, a national solar distributor and a solar EPC and developer. For Power Factor, Andrew joins a team that has delivered over 35MW of quality projects for the DOD as well as commercial and utility partners across the country. As a subject-matter expert, he focuses on providing clients access to proven, quality, reliable PV systems for discerning clients. Andrew works to find the best value, the simplest and most efficient designs. Andrew founded the South Carolina Solar Business Alliance, a trade association dedicated to promoting the use of solar energy with sound business and regulatory policy. Solar is Andrew’s life’s work, he believes strongly that before the end of this century we must have diversified to sustainable energy sources to progress as a species. Andrew graduated from the University of Georgia and lives in Charleston, South Carolina with his wife and two children.

Christina Kwiatkowski

Office Manager

Christina started working in 10th grade for a market research company completing taste test and product testing. Christina loved that job! After graduating high school, she worked for HCM Research, starting as a receptionist, and moving up to administrative management. She gained computer, clerical, HR and problem-solving experience at HCM as a Senior Analyst. She analyzed survey data and drafted an executive report of the findings. In 2014 she was asked to join Power Factor to take on the Office Manager Role. Christina is now responsible for many tasks, including client relations, permit approvals, business development support and assisting Janice with HR. Christina attended Essex Community College for 2 years, majoring in Business Management.
