George Lang IV Graduated in 1995 from Eastern Vocational Technical high school majoring in electronics. Upon graduation George started his electrical apprenticeship with Associated Builders and Contractors and graduated as a journeymen electrician in 2000. George obtained his Maryland electrical masters license in 2004 and now has a Masters’ license in 5 states. In 2004, George was offered an opportunity to become a partner in the electrical division for an established solar firm in Maryland. He decided to take a risk and left his job at Johns Hopkins to pursue the opportunity. During his time at the solar company George designed and helped deploy a system for Positive Train Control (P.T.C). George also built a patented battery system that was deployed in war zones and was used by the United States military. George worked at Powerup for 7 years until the company was sold to a national energy firm. George brought the five key employees to his new company. Power factor was formed in March of 2013 and now grosses $12M in annual sales and has over 50 employees. Power Factor has deployed over 1800 residential installations to date and over 35MW of solar both stateside and abroad. George is a Master Mason with Jephthah lodge 222 and is the president of the Essex Community Association. George has his NABCEP license and numerous contractors’ licenses. George is married to his wife Janice and has two kids, George Lang V and Laura Lang.

Andrew has over ten years’ experience in the solar industry, having previously worked for a private equity-backed solar start up, a seasoned regional solar installer, a national solar distributor and a solar EPC and developer. As a subject-matter expert, he focuses on providing clients access to proven, quality, reliable PV systems for discerning clients. Andrew works to find the best value, the simplest and most efficient designs. Andrew founded the South Carolina Solar Business Alliance, a trade association dedicated to promoting the use of solar energy with sound business and regulatory policy. Solar is Andrew’s life’s work, he believes strongly that before the end of this century we must have diversified to sustainable energy sources to progress as a species. Andrew graduated from the University of Georgia and lives in Charleston, South Carolina with his wife and two children.

Mike has over 20yrs experience in business management. He studied drafting and graphic design at Kenwood, which he has utilized frequently at Power Factor designing system layouts for over 4000 installs. Mike has been a store manager, production manager for a 42-person business and QA/QC for a large MD based wiring manufacturer as well as a battery company.Read More
He also has 6yrs experience in IT, building computer networks, software/computer support and design, network management and office management. For Power Factor Mike been a project manager, communications technician, IT resource and draftsman. He has built the internal server platform, external cloud-based database, implemented a QA/QC program and manages all client files for over 2200 projects under O&M. Mike is married and spends too much money on fast cars.

Ryan has worked in the commercial construction industry for over 10 years (General Contracting and Tunneling Project Management), with the last 5 years concentrated in the Solar/renewable energy industry. Currently Ryan is the Business Development Manager for the Telecommunications division for Power Factor as well as Business Development focusing on commercial solar projects, LEED Certified lighting retrofits, and EV Charging Stations.Read More
Ryan also develops large commercial general electrical construction projects. He studied at Frostburg State University concentrating in Business Management, where he met his wife Linda. They currently reside in Arnold, Maryland; have 2 children, Mason (2) and Madison (6 months), and the family dog Marley. Ryan is an avid sports fan and frequently attends the local home team’s games with family and friends (Ravens, Orioles, Capitals, and Wizards). He plays golf regularly and enjoys hikes on the Appalachian Trail and going to Ocean City in the summer.

Jerry has worked in construction and safety since 1981. Jerry started his career as an electrical journeyman. Joining Danfoss, one of the world’s leaders in electronic and mechanical control companies in 1985 as a Coordinator. Jerry was promoted multiple times over an industrious career that crossed many disciplines. Customer focus, delivery, and sales were Jerry’s primary role and responsibility, taking the largest customer in the region and increasing sales and customer satisfaction.Read More
One of the initiatives he is most proud of was incorporating Equipment Drawings and Pre-Programmed Inverter settings into a process that personalized each Inverter. This initiative consisted of Inverter programming, Line voltage, Hi Pot and Individual relay inspection at the assembly line level. This process, which brought together the Engineering, Software, Quality Control and Operations departments would later become the basis of design for all manufacturers in the industry. Jerry took his decades of industrial manufacturing experience and developed Power Factor’s safety program and construction management best practices. Jerry has overseen a complete makeover of Safety Practices within Power Factor. He has managed over 20MW of installations across multiple states and hammered home a safety-first doctrine. Those projects have been for customers in KS, MD, NC on US DOD bases and some of the largest companies in the world. Jerry continues to teach and this instinct travels through his personal life where he is a Highschool football referee and a baseball coach. Jerry likes to travel, golf and fish in his downtime.
Janice manages payroll, AP/AR, health care, benefits, and Human Resources for Power Factor. She supported George when he founded the company in 2013 through her work at Toys R Us, where she worked for 14 years. Janice started as a sales associate and worked her way up to managing the Human Resource Department. Jan manages daily operations in the office.Read More
In addition to managing over 50 employees’ benefits and payroll she has Laura in middle school and George Lang V, who is currently working on his electrical license at Power Factor. Jan is the Vice President of the Essex Community Association. She is also a proud sponsor of the Overlea girls’ soccer team and the Stembridge baseball program. Janice loves to read and bake in her free time.

Jasen has over 15yrs experience in commercial electrical work and worked with George as a lead electrician at John’s Hopkins University prior to Power Factor. Jasen is currently running the work scope for Power Factor’s contract with Onyx to design, procure and install 5.69MW ground mounted arrays in Aberdeen Proving Ground MD. Jasen is managing a crew of 20 installers and also works closely with the DOD USACE staff to stay in compliance on safety and schedule. Jasen is married and enjoys bow hunting and black powder hunting. Jasen also is working on renovating his newly purchased home in Harford County, MD.

Nick has over 18yrs experience in commercial electrical work and has built and run dozens of jobs for Power Factor over the last 10yrs. Nick has been an electrical helper, supervisor, project manager, and senior project manager for Power Factor and Powerup before joining the team in 2013. Prior to the solar industry, Nick worked in the automotive industry doing custom body work. He then learned the electrical trade at Milton Electric.Read More
Nick is currently running the work scope for Power Factor’s contract with URI to stabilize, dehumidify and rebuild two Howard University hi-rise towers. The towers were inundated with steam for 2 months when a major steam pipe exploded but was the single heat source for an adjacent hospital. Nick is married to his high school sweetheart and lives in Dundalk, MD with their two wonderful dogs, Khloe and Cam.

Larry has been in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industry for over ten years. Larry has worked in business development throughout his professional career. For three years leading up to 1998 he won AT&T Direct Cell awards in an eleven-state district for salesman of the year. Prior to working with Power Factor Larry was a commercial and residential solar development manager with Greenspring Energy and won salesman of the year in 2008.Read More
Larry currently manages all residential solar in Maryland as well Solatube daylighting, solar attic ventilation fans and LED retrofits. Larry attended college at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA and has a degree in Business Administration. He has a 13yr old son at home and is proud of his 20yr old daughter, who attends college in Boston, MA. Larry has been happily married for 21yrs and enjoys travelling internationally with family and friends. He lives in the Baltimore area.
Christina started working in 10th grade for a market research company completing taste test and product testing. Christina loved that job! After graduating high school, she worked for HCM Research, starting as a receptionist and moving up to administrative management. She gained computer, clerical, HR and problem-solving experience at HCM as a Senior Analyst. She analyzed survey data and drafted an executive report of the findings.Read More
In 2014 she was asked to join Power Factor to take on the Office Manager Role. Christina is now responsible for many tasks, including client relations, permit approvals, business development support and assisting Janice with HR. Christina attended Essex Community College for 2 years, majoring in Business Management. Christina has two beautiful daughters, three and seven years old that keep the family on the go. She rounds out family life with pets: Chocolate Lab Apollo, Black cat Ninja, and a turtle named Tittles.

Prior to his solar career, Rick’s focus was diagnostic medical imaging, where he founded RMI Medical Solutions, LLC, the first Maryland-based ICAEL accredited cardiac mobile ultrasound service. He held positions in cardiac and vascular ultrasound sales for Siemens and Hewlett-Packard. He also was an original member of GE Medical Systems’ OB/GYN Sales Team. Rick is a graduate of Towson University and lives in Harford County, MD with his wife Cathy. They have a son, daughter and 2 grandchildren. For fun, Rick enjoys golf, tennis, Corvettes and Camaros.

Aaron was the owner of a Digital Marketing Agency, assisting small businesses, when he became intrigued by the growth of the Maryland PV solar market. As a Signal Support Systems Specialist for the Army, Aaron oversaw the management of many communication devices, including radio communications, PC and fiber optic networks. Aaron likes to read books about neuroscience. He also enjoys traveling to warm weather climates and trying new restaurants.
Cody was born in Severna Park and grew up in Pasadena Maryland. At 15 started working part time while in high school doing landscaping and working McDonald’s. Cody graduated Chesapeake high school in 2011 and has worked full time since.Read More
